Julian calendar

Introduced in 45BC by Julius Cesar, it was the first calendar to use the cycle of the Sun, all previous calendars were related to the cycles of the Moon. Even today the most ancient astrology of China is based on the cycles of the Moon. Western astrology has used this mode of reference ever since.
